Creative painting workshop where participants customise a traditional tingkat into functional art.
The Tingkat Painting Workshop by Sage Atelier offers a hands-on creative experience centred around the traditional Singapore tingkat, or tiffin carrier. Participants will customise their own enamel tingkat using acrylic paints, transforming a familiar household object into a personalised piece of functional art.
Guided step by step, attendees will learn basic painting techniques such as colour layering, brush control, and simple motif design. Inspiration may be drawn from floral patterns, Peranakan-style details, or local food themes, with five tingkat colours available: white, blue, green, yellow, and red.
By the end of the session, participants will bring home a unique, hand-painted, reusable tingkat. This experience falls under the “workshops & classes” category, combining creativity, heritage appreciation, and sustainable living.
